I would ask to see the police report on it. If it was actually stolen, there would be one, especially if the cops confiscated it as claimed. Paypal screwed up and I would tell them that they either produce the police report or get ready to talk to your lawyer. You won't because the lawyer will cost you more in the first hour than the $182, but they don't know that. Paypal accepting this * word is totally bogus.

Holy cow.

well i think that if paypal said that (call them and tell them that you will cancel the account right now and they will fix this) i know from experience. but this is a sorry case. i know that paypal will not give your money back but they will cancel there account if the item isnt returned. but the prob is that its a he said she said situation.

Sometimes a pseudo-form letter from a lawyer can go a long way. Maybe you have a friend of a friend who could give you 5 min? This is how I would proceed if they will not give you the time of day.
This whole thing seems lopsided.

Bear is right on target.Contact the Battle Creek office of the Sate Police and get the police report, the one where the blkbry was confiscated. And then the first one reporting the theft of the item. Good Luck.Carp
