Honda Spree value? I may buy one, been sitting years gas in

Post by don »

I am talking to someone about buying their old Honda Spree/ Looks pretty good, but it has been sitting for 5 years with gas and oil in tanks. The reason they took it out of service is that the battery would go flat - even when replaced with new. I just need to know a fair market value for a decent looking complete machine, which is going to need a lot of TLC.
Thanks all.

just ask if you can take it for a night and inspect it, but i wouldnt pay any more than 150 for such a spree, but decide on what youll need to replace, and kinda deduct that from the 150 amount.

Yep. Good bodywork is key. If you can check that compression is 110-115, the motor won't take much either. $100-150 is about the range for as described with OK bodywork and compression.

I offered her $125.00 for the spree - she is not the actual owner - but has been storing it for the owner for some years. Anywyas will have to see. Anything to look out for on the mechanical front? Thanks again - Don Salem, MA USA

Like noiseguy said make sure the engine turns over and is not locked up.
Does it have a clear title? Depending on what state you are from you may need a title to get it licensed for the road.

Werd. Price assumes they've got a title, or you can easily get one. Ease varies by state. In MI, you don't need one; they're not even issued.
