This is an 86' Spree I just got last week... had the flames on the seat already. I thought I'd flame the rest of it :coolcruise: Still have a few pieces to finish

Oregon law is a lot like Michigan... reads about the same. A Spree is considered a Moped even though it doesn't have pedals. Less than 50cc, 2-3 wheels, no more than 30 mph... and must be registered, titled, and insured and carries a Moped plate. So, though I usually call mine a scooter, it IS considered a Moped in Oregon.

1985 Spree, stock except for 2.75X10 tires. Have a BBK, Taz's gears, SB50 carb, intake and carbon fiber reeds for it.
Image

1983 Aero 80, stock except for a manual bystarter in place of the vacuum/heat controlled one. Have a Aero 125 carb, intake and reeds for it.
Image

Got this Aero 125 running, stock to start with. But have a CT intake and reeds for it.
Image

Aero 50, stock except for ignition switch.
Image

Have a second Aero 80 which need a lot of work and it is last in line.

Carbon fiber reeds open and close faster, open farther, which increases air flow, thus making more power and most important, when they break, they do NOT hurt the motor as they go thru it and out the exhaust.

Boyesen makes reeds but not for everything. I know they make them for the Aero 80 and the SA50 motors. However you can make then yourself as sheets of carbon fiber are available. Wheelman has made some. Treatlands sells the sheets, here are a couple of examples:

Greetings:

Because of their faster response, the micro-puffs of mixture inhaled under engine vacuum can be more precisely controlled with faster carbon reeds. You should know you may need to re-jet when you swap to reeds with different properties, including different thicknesses of that Polini stuff.
