My favoryte Honda...ever...that I have owned...POST YOURS !!

Post by motormike »

...not what you may have thought from the Subject line....this "600" sedan preceded the "coupe" that was all the rage in '70-71...mine had been brought back to Indiana by a sailor returning home from San Diego....sometime during it's California life, it was reupholstered in Tijuana... :naughty: ... with leather, a cheap respray, and little else....My ownership came in '96, $300 cash, running, but backfiring....598 cc's, parallel twin, 4-speed on the dash, FWD, 10-inch wheels....after a carb fixer, addition of a Cherry-bomb exhaust, and elimination of cancer ridden gas tank....this was my daily to work for a solid year...nuthin' but WOT for 2 miles on a country road that had a 3 turn ESS curve and 2 HARD 90's.....I went home for lunch just so I could run the circuit....amazing the clutch lasted for the all that I was giving it....hated to sell, but the right guy came along...whatta blast...I want one now .. ....only have the one pic.....rock-on.... :urban:

Had one and blew it up twice, rebuilt twice then rolled it when I got run off the road by a Buick passing on a hill.

Dyno GT-Von Franco
retro-currrrrvvvvy. Love the Honda's you posted - 600cc!

I searched around, not knowing much about the little Honda's. Found some I'd like, and that Jay Leno has one (bottom right). 600cc and less can be more. Come on Honda, make some retro micros for the US.

...if you didn't see them, there are also Honda 800's.....My infatuation with mini's began at age 6 when we moved to Decatur, IL.....somebody there had an Isetta (circa '57-59) in his driveway about three blocks away from home, and I would venture past his house just to see it...probably never shake the wish for one, but after watching the value climb the last 40 years, it's just a wish...Amphicar was always a close second....We are fortunate to have in Nashville the Lane museum which is dedicated to mini's>>>> http://lanemotormuseum.org/

Good ones motormike. I had a TR7 once <shurg> guy at work had a TR8! Isetta's are darn cool, and so are Amphicars. You've had a lot of motors I'd like :2thumbs:
