Can't go wrong there Carnie... :thumbwink:
The versatility of a dual-sport can make you smile everywhere except the interstate highway.
Oh, it's not bad when jumping off & on, but long durations are uncomfortable.
Hope ALL is going well in your new world...
I say this will be a GREAT choice for your next ride....rock-on.... :urban:

The Daily Chat

Ended up picking it up for $1600 which is still a little high but it's in nearly new shape. Just one scratch and missing a mirror. Overall I'm pleased with it. Rode it about 30miles to make it home and was pleased with its performance. I am excited to get it out of the city and in the mountains when it warms up a bit.

As for my new world... Things have been a little rocky but I recently found a job at a coffee shop. Not much, I know, but it will at least pay my bills until I find something a bit better. Thanks for the inquiry! How're you my friend?

Hi all, it has been awhile fellow scooterists. Time to dust off and clean up the scooters. Hope your winter has been swell or at least bearable (no pun intended Bear).

Alright guys, as you know, I bought a 2000 Suzuki DR200SE not too long ago, but have yet to find any good finds at decent prices to allow me to get back into the scooter scene. My DR is my commuter, but I also use my bicycle quite frequently as well. I had been off of my DR for a couple weeks and went to start it and found that the battery was dead, so I put it on the trickle charger and got it fired up, however, after I let it warm up for a little while and am ready to take off, once I put on the throttle, it chugs really bad and come crazy close to dying. I am assuming this is because it is running very rich. I played with the a/f mixture to try and lean it out but I have yet to have any luck. Would anyone be able to offer up any of their expertise and a possible diagnosis? I am 98% sure the problem lies with the carburetor, but I am often wrong... Thanks in advance!

P.S. I posted this here because this is a scooter forum and want to respect that, but the wealth of knowledge possessed on this forum is invaluable.

Since it was running good before parking for a few days, it's most likely fuel related.
Make sure the crankcase hasn't flooded with gas, check level and feel for thinning, smell like gas in oil ?
Maybe just the float stuck or float needle stuck...clean it good.
Check for deterioration of needle tip.... :hi:
Put your adjustment screws back to the previous setting that ran good.
Of course, always pull plug and check first thing.

Took some time to visit home land and experience some of the roads that I first drove.
Central Illinois
Attended Bike Night in Decatur, IL...snapped a few shots of mainly Harley-Davidson shirts.
My way of making fun of the culture because they spend as much on Licensed Products as they do the big bikes.
Out of the estimated 200+ motorbikes there, I counted only 10 or 11 NON-Harley motos.
Earl the Elite being my contribution....HA ! !
Only scooter with the b-a-l-l-s to roll in.
If you don't ride Harley-Davidson in Illinois, you're pretty much a freak.
...and if you do,...you're gonna wish you had a helmet on next time a cager doesn't see you.

Greetings:

Technically that Buell XB was a Harley, albeit not a chug-chug engine. The 900s redlined at 7500, positively stratospheric in V-Twin-from-Milwaukee terms. The 1200s tended to wheelie in any gear but 5th. Cover that rear brake...

I think you are saying that Buell bikes are easy to buy for a fairly cheap price.
I can agree to that being the case here in Mid-Tenn zone.
The few people that I have spoken with that own Buells are happy with them.
Appeals to me far stronger than the pictured Honda Rune.

not all of Illinois is like that with Harleys. up here by Chicago we have tons of scooters and most are Hondas. but pretty much all of the suburbs of Illinois are packed full of Harleys...but if you think it was heavy on the Harleys here try Wisconsin....scheesh I have never seen so many Harleys in one place.!

This bike showed up on Craigslist this week.
Sat in barn for 18 years.
Owner rolled the clock up to 20K.
Found to be nearly complete original except for the exhaust.
Must have been sitting outdoors during it's active life, paint is sun-damaged badly.
The mice found the holes in the bottom of the seat pan and used them as doors to a nest,
after hollowing the seat foam extensively.
On the plus side, seller cleaned the carbs well enough to make it run pretty good.
Much remains in order to make this bike serviceable.
Oh yeah, I bought it... :urban:
