Upcoming Presidential election

Post by Ultraliner »

Coming from the land under the land down under I'm kinda curious as to what some every day run of the mill Muricans think of the whole Trump vs Hillary thing. I only see what the media tells me... Feel free to offer up y'all opinions ;)

The election is over. Hillary won. Just like her and Trump planned all along. Trump and Clinton are BFF's. His job was to recruit the lowest of the low followers, feed them red meat, say some of the most insane things, throw the election by making himself be the worst candidate ever to run. Rile up the Democratic base so that the chances the down ticket candidates lose as well becomes a very real possibility. This gives Hillary the House and the Senate if it all plays out. When it's all said and done, the Clintons and Trumps meet secretly, pop open a bottle of champagne, and toast a job well done.

Sounds crazy yes?? Well, I personally am NOT a conspiracy theorist, never have been. But it all seems just too convenient the way Trump did a complete 180 on his past positions and now all of a sudden supports all kinds of cliche' extremist right wing talking points. Also very suspicious the way he has went out of his way to align with the KKK, and insult those "other than" types. All in the name of being "ANTI-ESTABLISHMENT"... Yeah, how does one become that, when they are one of those who tried buying influence in the first place?

I'm not saying either Trump or Clinton are horrible, we all know they are... but what I will say is I believe they are well coordinated.

Voting is hersay, everyone discredited Bern with stupid s*** like he is old and crazy and that hes a socialist without ever providing any decent arguments. I rather ground our country down into debt then have uneducated workers. At least we would have educated workers. The state dosnt want you to be educated, ever wonder why your taxes dont pay for college? If everyone has a degree, who goes into the millitary? Who works our factories, well what is left of those, and who does the dirty work. Without uneducated political influence is the only guidance the working class sees. I am in a state that enploys Tennessee promise, based off tax money im going to school for free and the past 2 years the bill has been very promising. Lots of very educated individuals are in school with em and these people would of had to work a farm or factory their whole life. Its not right people deserve a chance at life.

I rather be broke as a joke and know why then be used and abused for 45 years and never know why.

Im writing in bernie, because at least he would under stand 10 Brazilians...

I'll not share any opinions about our dilema surrounding the presidential election...
but one opinion I can share is this: It is very offensive to call us "Muricans".
I was born in AMERICA.
I fought for the honor to remain AMERICAN.
I will surely die an AMERICAN.
The slur you hurl at me is a perversion of my heritage,
and would earn you some lumps if you said it to my face.
I realize you didn't intend any disrespect, so this one is a free pass for you.
Now that you have my opinion on that, may you find a better way to address your fellow man.

For that I apologise unreservedly Mike to you and anyone else. It was not my intention to insult anyone. It was my assumption that it was a slang term for an American, much the same as a New Zealander is reffered to as a Kiwi.

Any sort of government voting for me is usually guided by not voting for the best option but more to keep the worst options out.

Im pretty sure our PM is only into his 3rd term due to the fact that there isnt anyone with the charisma and persona that he has. He puts on a good show but hes basically selling NZ to whoever he can, people whine about it but most kiwis are either too lazy to vote or just dont care. If they have their tomato sauce, jandals and can go to the beach when its sunny then they are happy(not that their is much wrong with that)but its annoying when people complain about the government then reveal they didnt vote coz they went fishing instead. It would seem political candidates the world over are far from perfect.

Pretty much

Once you have been in another part of the world America is a laughing stock, there is other places in the world that have been laws and people than here. The term Murican is pretty much the normal term ive heard many foreigners use. Like Ultra said, everyone uses that term, because America is put under the media

When thats all they see thats all they know... not trying to say anyone is wrong but dont bring tension to the argument of it all, better yourself and the people around you to better the name you and your country hold.

AS a side note though, many people here have varying opinions and this topic isn't the best for a forum like this. I don't wanna see members hate each other for political bs, were here for scooters. Who would you vote for AF05E or Af16e?

This is true, this post wasnt designed to out anyones political opinion or offend anyone. I was more curious to read some opinions of guys like yourselves, everyday normal citizens. I quite like eclarkes summation, very interesting.

I have personally never met Mr AF16 so my vote has to go to his biological twin AF18e ;)

I vote to delete this topic. I'm not ashamed to admit I voted for Bob Dole, Bush twice, Obama twice. As it is now, I doubt myself and many like me, would ever want to admit to voting for any of the canidates, even the green party. Shameful election all around that I'd rather not lose friends over.

Our country is in a strange predicament politically, but I don't think we "normal" Americans should shy away from talking about it. To the folks from the rest of the world besides the u.s., please don't think that either of these people or there actions represent what the average American represents- normal, caring, hardworking people who are currently suffering through a stressed political system. There's alot of propaganda thrown out as news here, and I'm sure it looks crazy from outside our country, but rest assured most of us are not like what you see on TV haha.
I wish we had some better choices, or more choices instead of a de-facto 2-party system. But this is what we have and it's not doing too bad, we still have lots of (maybe too much) functioning government and lots of "luxuries" not always available in other countrys.

Oh, and eclark was right - I'm pretty sure it's rigged and the both of em are in it together, or at least have some kind of agreement. Trump used to donate REGULARLY to the Clinton's supposedly, and he said on TV along time ago that if he ever ran for president he'd run as a Republican because the people who watch fox news will vote for anyone, and Fox news always supports the g.o.p. and yes he actually said that.

Whether it's Trump or Clinton, you can get rid of them in 4-5 years.
