It has alot of parts on it-so I'm stripping it down and transfering the malossi 70cc clutch, arreche carb-to the new engine. I have the elite all together now and running, It's so awesome!!!! I just haven't installed the gears, but new tires and metropolitan wheels to be installed tomorrow.
The '08 block will have the better set of gears. The recall was only for emissions so you will be safe with those mods assuming you keep the pipe instead of using the '08 exhaust.

Yep better gears in the 08 engine. I'm going to use the technigas pipe -just need to get a new variator for it and get it all tuned in.

Do you know which variator you are going with?

I haven't decieded yet. I've really working on the honda -got the new michelin tires on the metro wheels-installed the v8 pipe. I took it out and gps's it 49.9 mph almost wide open. It was pretty windy too, I think it's not to shabby for stock gears, wind, and my 260+lb * on it :)
Next step have the new gears pressed on!
