High performance "no rev limit" CDI is a waste of money!

Post by noiseguy »

Hi,

If you're reading this, you've probably seen an add for High performance "no rev limit" CDI's for your scoot.

These are a complete and utter waste of money for your Honda scooter. Here's why:

1) Contrary to ad claims, the US version of the Honda CDI has no "rev limiter" It will run the bike engine spark faster than either the pipe, jug, or your tuning will ever allow. The Japanese version of the AF18 engine has one, I've heard. If you have gotten your hands on one of these engines, you probably don't need me to tell you to just buy a US OEM CDI and call it good.

2) They are an inferior design to Japanese OEM stock, and burn out, sometimes within a few weeks. Good luck getting your money back from the seller.
