How to Fabricate a Superior Petcock Cover Clip

Post by Dac »

Thank you GIJoeBob for this guide.

--------------------------

As many of us know, the petcock cover clip supplied by Honda does not work very well and we end up losing petcock covers as we zoom down the road.

Here is an easy way to make a clip that works much better.

1. Start with a bolt on tie wrap. I had a few surplus pieces left over from various parts scooters.

2. Clip off the "wings" of the wrap and remove the rubber coating.

3. Put a 90 degree bend into the square section.

4. Roll over the end to put a rounded bend on the end.

5. Screw that sucker on.

Note - While it would be nice to leave the rubber coating on the clip to provide for extra grip, the rubber coating gets pretty much destroyed when you do all the bending.
