Vento Triton R4i

Post by wikked_spree57 »

What's one of these worth? I got one and I'm starting to realize it's not your average cheap bike...

Where's it made and what's the stock top speed? It has a TCB performance variator in it I do know that much. I gotta go thru the wiring and get it running yet I was just curious on this. I want to sell it but I need a fan and shroud so it can be ridable.

the r4I is the 150 4 stroke model. It uses a gy6 style engine. Check your local craigslist to see what others are selling theirs for.

ahh yeah r4. I think the r4i is the phantom which is the 150cc 4 stroke. for the r4 you should be able to sell those for about $700 if its in very good shape. those sold new for around $1400 back in 06. I think topspeed is around 42-45mph. Oh and its made in the USA. texas and corp. office is in san diego.

just go to the vento website. http://www.vento.com/web/pub/usa/default.asp?zone=EUA and order the parts you need from them.

They got the parts but I seriously don't get it. The picture they show looks nothing like my fan shroud. I have a box FULL of those. It's basically this big flat round thing with a vent in it, lol.

It does not appear to have the wrong engine, but, it is definately NOT even CLOSE to the several chinese minarellis I got. Intake is bigger and longer, case is bigger (12" wheels, duh), belt cover is almost flat.

I've googled some pics and it appears I have the wrong motor. I remember a TGB on the inside of the variator, my research shows that to be a scooter brand. Just great.

I have an 04 Vento R4 that recieves most of my attention these days. Stock with a little tuning, top speed about 40 but gets there in a hurry with lite sliders.

Mine is a minarelli style "long case" 50cc, 12mm wristpin, 1E40qmb code. Basically a short stroke 90, uses the larger crank splines and variator. Looks like a lot of other chinese jogs but longer for the 12" wheels. The intake does appear larger but still looks like a Jog, mine came with a 19mm carb. Vento did sell a 90/100cc (1e50qmb) version of the triton, the interweb claims it was not common in the states tho. Does yours use the 788 belt?

Vento is/was based in Texas, assembled the scoots there, but they are Chinese. OEM parts availability is questionable, have read that they are no longer operating in the U.S and even when they did parts were hard to get. Scrappydog scooters seems to sell some OEM parts.

Yeah I need to buy a motor for it, it has a TCB motor on it right now. it's a long case, if the original wheel fits it ill keep it cause it has the bigger crank. I just have to get a fan/shroud for it. it's different than all the other minarelli clone engines.

Have you tried actual minarelli shrouds?

The real thing is close to the chinese ones I have but not even a hair close enough for this motor. It's an oblong style on all my motors but this one, this is like a huge circle shape with a rectangle notch at the top. Kinda hard to describe but not typical.

I'm just searching for the right motor for it, cause I really like the scooter's looks, wheel and tire size, and stance. Sitting on it is pretty freakin comfortable if you ask me, especially compared to the Eton we have.

Buy them and ship the motors to Cali then. The Ruckus guys are starving for 2t motors.
