Riva 180... Mods?

Anyone know of any type of performance enhancing mods I can do to this big scooter? It's supposed to do 75mph but I'm lucky to hit 60, and I'm pretty sure the carb and emissions has to do with it.
Am I able to swap the system out for a standard flat slide race carb? I got one sitting on the shelf that's a 34mm... Came from a Suzuki 250R four wheeler, maybe I can play with jets?
