Please could someone help? [Unkn. Mini-Bike Non-Starter-Ed.]

Post by Beansdaddy09 »

hello, i am working on a minibike that i picked up at a yardsale for $40 , i broke it down and put it all back together, sandblasted and am painting it today. only problem is i cannot get it to fire up, unless a spray just a small amount of carb cleaner then it will putter once rev and die. there are two lines that come from tank to carb, and for some reason when i pump the primer bulb nothing comes down the line, no fuel, and i tried switching the lines 20 times, still dont work. PLEASE if anybody can help me please ive worked this thing the last 3 weeks day and night and just cant sleep till i wrap it up was hoping to do it tomorrow to show off to my brothers kids when they come visit for the weekend

So... you aren't getting fuel.

You haven't posted a pic of the engine, or told us what you're working on. Will assume some sort of B&S horizontal shaft.

Two lines sounds like some sort of vacuum-operated petcock. Again, without pics, hard to know.

Did you try taking apart the carb and cleaning it, as a first step?

Doing the same thing again, and expecting different results, is a form of insanity, btw. Not that I don't see it all the time with otherwise high-functioning individuals.
