Which air filter?

Post by Okil69 »

I'm just doing the usual (poking around on eBay, except now I have a little spendin' money :) ) But I came across these 2 air filters. which one would do me better on my Vento?

Now one has the bent tubing, so I could hang it turn it outwards a little bit to catch more air, but the other one is bigger,

Does it matter where the air filter placement is? Because I was thinking with my plastics in the way it would prevent airflow from going to my filter.

And one more question, Does 'size' matter? No pun intended. But Seriously, would the difference in size make a difference on my bike? Please reply ASAP

Run the stock airbox and filter or you will run lean and ruin your engine

Greetings:

I'm with King on this one. Simply adding a less-restrictive air filter won't make a scooter faster unless the air box is a significant limiting factor. If it is, the jetting changes are required to match the now more-abundant supply of air. Without bigger jets, you risk running too lean, overheating, and failure.

That said, either of those will flow better than most stock airboxes. Prepare for a significant and not necessarily pleasant noise increase.

Better idea with fixed jet carbs to just leave the airfilter stock

Alright thanks for the quick reply guys. I appreciate it. And I came along a problem today. I was about 1 mile and a half from home and my belt snapped, this is belt #2 in less than 2 months. and I wasnt putting it under load or WOT or anything, maybe a 25-35 mph cruise. I heard that rollers with flat spots can cause it to mess up and snap a belt but there's no flat spots on any of my rollers.
