PLEASE HELP ASAP

So this will be my first Moped buy, I'm new to the game. Its a Vento R3. I'm getting this in a trade/buy. I would buy something else if I had money to spend, but sadly I don't.

I'm trading:
Highpoint Firearms C9 9mm Luger- $150
2 Xbox 360 controllers- $25ea

He also wants $200 cash

Please advise me if this is a good deal or not, I think I can lower my cash payout for it.
And also I was wondering what has/needs to be done to it, with possible pricing if anyone can tell me.

Here are the videos he sent me>>>> http://s844.photobucket.com/user/troythomas448/profile/
(Go to library to see both videos)
Here is the craigslist add>>>> http://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/bar/4332704928.html

I will be going there tomorrow to test drive and inspect the moped.

Thanks much,

I'm also having trouble finding info on the 2003 Vento R3, if anyone can help with that either.

A Honda fixer might fit your budget. Lot of members here from MI who know local prices and sources. I have no personal Vento experience to help but found below info.

I looked for a company web site and found none. Big wiki says they are a has been. Take a good look at the scooter tomorrow for what parts it needs for it to be 'right' with you. Plastics etc may be hard to find. For example, search eBay for "Vento R3".

External Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vento_(mot ... ufacturer)

"Vento was a motorcycle, scooter and ATV manufacturer from the United States. The name of the company is Italian for "wind". The company was originally founded in Mexico in 1996. Parts come from Italy, China, Japan and Taiwan, with some of its suppliers also selling to Harley-Davidson."

hi B. the spree is ok if it was running for $150. swim is right you can only go 30mph. you are getting warmer. offer him the 9+ $50 see what he says. you will need the cash to get it running. make sure he has papers for it. so you can register the scooter. call DMV see what you need for you state. good luck.

Hi I own a Vento twin called a Madami Maxxi. You can put a zuma/jog horizontal minarelli engine on them and also the 1pe50qmf 90cc version is a direct bolt in. It is the swap I did to mine. Now its 112cc with a 19mm Delorto carb etc etc. Theyre not bad bikes and can do pretty decent speeds, also a disc front brake is great. Mine is a wheelie machine.

As much as I like the bike it just sits, its too fast to claim its a 49cc and at speeds below 40 it likes to pull the wheel when given any throttle. I tried to sell it once and got too many dumb people tire kicking for me.

How about this one for 400?
He said fuel gauge is a little off it reads half tank when full, and the brake lever is bent but works great.
He also said he had it posted up last year with one of the brakes not working, then worked on it at the end of the season and they're good to go now.

Saw, it, rode it, loved it, bought it! : D
I'm so excited, I had a Suzuki FA50 when I was just a boy.
Now I'm the proud owner of a '86 Honda Spree!
Thanks for the help, Gents, you helped me from making some bad decisions.
I'll be posting on here from now on as I work and setup my ped for greatness.

Is there anything I can do for cheap now to speed my baby up? Without properly warming her up, I got her to 26, and shes been sitting around since last fall. Starts up every time though. Also, what about front suspension upgrades or anything to promote stability. It already has an elite rear shock absorber, so that is perfect for my little bit of added weight. I'm 6'3 and extremely athletic, so I normally sit around 200. But she didnt bottom out at all. Not very even roads too. I'd like to get her to push up to 40, with enough stability so that if I hit a pothole on accident at that speed, I'm not going to be all over the place. Any suggestions or advice is always greatly appreciated. I live in MI, so are roads aren't top notch due to weather.
Thanks.
