Co worker just picked up and nice vino 50 I think it's a 2011 judging by color. Are there any upgrades or tweaks to make it go faster? It's only got 2700 miles on it and looking for a little more speed. Any insight or if you can point me towards a good forum that would be great. Thanks in advance

Lower roller weight to 7g and 1500 rpm triple spring will help a little. Those 4t are pretty slow.

Yeah I'm actually thinking it might be an older one with the 2t. He's not sure I told him to check title for the year. Hoping it's a 2t

I have a vino engine for sale if anyone needs one.
They have better intake volume out of any minarelli style by yamaha. Tell him get boyesen reeds, 6g rollers, 1500 contra and 1500 triple springs and he'll be flying. They're quick.

Slap a Taiwan 70cc kit on it from Autotech, A tecnigas next r pipe, a bigger main jet in the stock carb, and lean forward so the front wheel stays on the ground! Mine is awesome! As 1man8scoots pointed they are the ONLY minarelli horizontal I know of that comes from the factory with the cases trenched for better flow.

if it were mine it would have a kit on it for sure. but its for a coworker just looking for a some fun transport. slapped a new battery in it today to see if it would fire after sitting and sure enough turned right over. took it for a little spin and 40ish is bout tops right now. seems like it gets to 30 then cuts out on the power. do these have restrictions?

The cdi is restricted on some models, or all I forget. They develop air leaks pretty frequently also so be sure no air leaks on the rubber manifold.
Take the air box off pull the carb up and down and look for cracks in the manifold. We do a lot of yamaha intakes.

Yeah he just got the plastics off and me just say I'm glad I got a honda. Looks like a pain the * to work it. The manifold is cracked don't think it's leaking yet but it needs replaced. Gonna have him clean it up and take out the washer in the variator for now.

Don't take the washer out. It's a shim for the variator. You won't gain any top end but you'll lose the bottom end.
If the manifold is cracked it's leaking. Spray the manifold with carb cleaner and I bet it'll die.

They're actually pretty easy to take the plastics off. The battery is what sucks.
