Just now, and the Gasket section doesn't list the gear cover that I could find... Thanks Benji.

No prob...
What I try to do is cross reference other models that have the same motor and look for parts under that scooter.
For example, racing planet doesn't sell fork trees for yamaha zuma II, but they do sell them for the mbk booster, which is the same(basically, some differences here n there)

Looks like maybe the vespa et4 50 may have the same motor, and maybe the same gasket.

It's a piaggio HI-PER 4 from what I can find, not sure on a engine code number yet.

Boy do I feel stupid! The Service Manual spells it out: the seal is achieved by a bead of LocTite 510 only! The reason I couldn't find a gasket is...they ain't one! I confirmed this with George at Scooter Parts Co., who got a chuckle at my expense.

That makes sense...I think 1man8scooys said that older vespas only use loctite as a headgasket too. Could be someone else tho.

Well if Honda-san thinks the case halves on Elites - which are subjected to considerable pressure fluctuations - can survive with Hondabond, then I guess Vespa tranny gears can manage with it too. Here's a pic next to Flash:

The Honda outperforms the Vespa in every conceivable measure of performance, with the current exception of braking. My rim drums are hopelessly out-of round. Might have to source new Met rims.

I dunno if my new Malossi cam is "shorter" or not. The lobes are taller and thicker for sure, and Malossi as well as Scooters West recommend it only when installing the cylinder kitAfter one short burst with the wind ahead, performance gains documented:

Still not even a tank of fuel consumed and much tuning to go. I'd really like to get a CHT and a tach for it, but the tiny spark plug requires a trained Spider Monkey to retrieve - REALLY tight between the head and frame. Not sure where I could install the sensor? I examined the plug last night, nice tan color, so I'm pretty close with the 82 main installed.
From nearly 15:1down to 12:1, permitting speed without over-rev. Methinks I'm hitting the 3-stage rev-limiter with my current 30-ish gram load, down from 33. Will try 36 next time.

Got a new clock from Holland along with a new headlight cowl. The old one was a bit scratched up. With this, cosmetics are a 9.5 on 10. Only problem is that Ms. Wheel-person now loves it too. Anyone see a PCX-150 or a Forza anyplace near Deepinnaharta?

I just put one of those on my prebug. Nice tach but I can't figure out how to a: get it to turn off or b: get it to keep its cool green back light on.

Yeah, B, the instructions are pretty much gibberish translated by computer from Furrinese... Really hard to understand.
I suspect the single power source of a CR32 button battery is fine to run the LCD display indefinitely, but the backlight sucks too much current to let stay on for more than 3 seconds even if it's an LED lamp.
The 1p2R setting (which I think stands for one sPark per two Revolutions) seems right for this single-fire four-stroke Vespa engine. I suspect Honda smokers need the 1p1R setting for a spark per every spin.

I like it because the Velcro installation let me put it on and run the wire down the mirror hole, avoiding having to drill expensive Eye-Tally-Yan plastics. I may not be out of the woods if it ever needs to come off, however. The Orange paint on this thing isn't very well bonded to the plastic - the Vespa site has warned about how easy it is to chip, and I pulled paint off the first headlight cowl removing electrical tape.

Heat gun (or hair dryer) may help pull it off w no paint chipping. I guess there's another version of this tach that also has temp on it.

I'd LOVE a temp gauge on this air-cooled 4-valve 4-stroker, but have you seen the plug location. Even my trained spider monkey had trouble getting its fingers around the 5/8" wrench to unscrew it. I'd HATE to have to thread a sensor ring around that thing.
