87 Razz Lights Reversed

I have a 1987 Yamaha Razz that I recently bought. The issue is that the bike kick starts on the first kick but the starter didn’t appear to work. Then when I rode the scooter I noticed the headlight worked, but the turn signals and signal lamps didn’t. However! When I turn the key to “off” I can get the turn signals and indicator lights to work, the oil lamp light turns on when I hit the electric start. So, some of the lights work when the ignition is “off” but not when “on” while the head light works when the ignition is “on”. Please help
