thanks i dont have access to post there. ok i had rear gear installed when i thought and it was suggested that i do a write up. ill get you up to the install.
step
1. remove rear plastics, rear fender and exhaust.
2 remove belt/kicker cover this will expose the 2 pulleys you will have to remove.
3. find a tool to hold the clutch pulley(i use this)
4 remove the nut for the tire and the nut holding the clutch bell. use the same toll to hold the front pulley and remove that nut. pull off the 2 pulleys and belt as one(much easier)
5. now remove the remaining bolt holding the gear cover on and lightly tap the cover til the seal is broken the slide the cover off the shaft. o this is a good time to have a pan ready to catch the oil that will leak out from the case. take a break get a drink grab a smoke if you do.
6. clean the cover and case well with a razor knife and some brake clean. make sure they are as clean as you can get them.
7. ok ready to install..right? ok install the large gear should look like this
8.install thin washer.like this
9. install the smaller gear like this
10. ok now its time to install the gear cover since they are discontinued parts you will need some silicone

17 replace tire and tighten the nut there.
18. fill this hole with 3OZ of 10W-30 motor oil(i used royal purple syn oil) 19. replace the belt/kicker cover and tighten all those bolts. i gave the rear tire a few spins to cover the gears.
replace the fender, exhaust and rear plastics, seat and turn signals. clean up and stand back and thank yourself for a job well done, start and enjoy.!! if you hear a whinning noise taz suggests removing that thin washer behind the small gear. i did and it got louder for me so test before you add the oil. hope this helps all of you about to enjoy the up gear.

Dont know if it makes any difference but the dealer recommends using motorcycle oil in the gearbox

Re: Spree - Aftermarket transmission gear installation
Greetings:
Nice post, Two-Niner. Great pics, and I should know.
One concern:
Check that transmission countershaft and axle shaft for signs of heat-darkening. Also check the cover and the crankcase side to see if the gears have shaved off some aluminum.
If the gasket really has been discontinued by Honda, a better solution would be to make one out of Autoparts gasket material. I'll bet that doing so resolves the noise issue. Slathering both sides of your new Honda or Homemade gasket increases the odds that you'll be able to re-use if you ever must disassemble again.

One concern:
Since there have been a couple of posts describing "Whirring" after the upgear installation, this may provide the reason. Y'see the gasket isn't just for sealin'. Its thickness is calculated into the final assembly of these high-precision parts. Permatex may do an admirable job of holding the oil in the cavity. However when you tighten down the cover bolts, it crushes down to nearly-nothing. That ~mm of gasket thickness is gone, so there is a good chance that the countershaft will be pinched end-to-end. A similar issue regarding the starter Bendix arose about a year ago: You can't install the belt cover without either a gasket or some shimmage to prevent the same shaft-pinching issue there.i used this
[Pic of transmission case cover nicely prepped with Permatex.]

Re: Spree - Aftermarket transmission gear installation
Ugg. "Discontinued" gaskets again.
Call some other shops. Metro Powersports in Canton, MI (Honda dealer) can cut any Honda gasket on an as-needed basis. Seems extreme, but might be worth giving them a call if all else fails. There may be someone closer to you that can do the same thing.
