Please don't build this.
I'm sure this creation will sell quickly[/sarcasm], so I'm going to post the ad here incase it's gone by the time you follow the link:

Now I can handle some creative builds, and I appreciate craftsmanship. But I'm trying to figure out why anyone would build this. Am I too picky when it comes to styling and handling? Call me a *, ok. -Kevin
Honda Ruckus with 150cc Elite Swap - $2800 (Fairview)
This is an 03 ruckus with a honda elite motor swap. I have done tons of good things to this little scoot. Besides the motor swap it has a new acewell digital speedo which also has a tach, trip meter, fuel guage etc. I also replaced the whole front end with an NCY front fork and disc brake which really helped the braking power. The rear suspension is a fully adjustable fox float shock. And I've done plenty of other stuff. The engine swap put the top speed at just over 60mph and still gets awesome gas mileage. The bike only has about 200 miles on it since the swap and I take good care of it. Asking $2800. Call Tyson 503-209-xxxx

As far as Ruckus builds go, that one looks kind of tame. I wonder if they changed the registration with the engine swap?
I bet it is a wheelie monster!

Doubt it, the gy6 150 swaps will burnout all day long but the wheel base is so long, they just don't have that kind of pickup.Fishman43 wrote:I bet it is a wheelie monster!
Have you ever been on a stock ruck? It is weak and the 2003 model was slower yet as well as a well known crank bearing failure issue. The stock engine may have gone bad so the guy swapped in some more power rather than a rebuild.outofcontrol wrote: But I'm trying to figure out why anyone would build this.

Somebody on here (veedubh I think?) did a much better ruck swap than that. It looked much cleaner, the motor didn't look out of place at all. I see what you're saying about this particular one...kinda hashed together.

While I'm not the biggest fan of that bike, it still looks alright. Definitely took some work to do the swap.
On another note, that "POS" as you call it would walk all over your bone stock Spree, so I don't think you have much room to talk.

Re: Please don't build this.
Battlescooter did the first 150cc Elite motor swap into the ruckus, which apparently the seller modeled his bike after.
It's true, that bike would walk all over a ton of the bikes here due to the 150cc bulletproof LC motor it has.

I'd rather buy an elite with no plastics and have some fun with a welder.

Re: Please don't build this.
I've never owned a Ruck but came close... almost snagged it for $600 but backed out.
Now I want one, I even went as far as trying to get a line of credit to make payments, yeah not happening.
I see people do these SICK mods to them (this one could look better) and I like how they look in general. My neighbor owns one, I took it to the store last week for the fun of it and I love they way they handle. Felt like being on four wheels instead of two.
