I'm a little late chiming in, but also the engines being on the same stroke means the bottom end pressurizes at the same time, removing the need to isolate the cases with pressure seals on either side of the crank coupler. Easier to engineer on several levels.
agreed, I am certain that is why they made it this way.
if it was for a production vehicle, cyl would likely be opposed. but doesn't matter much for a drag bike

To each their own on the proper exhaust note but a lot of that has to do with the exhaust system. Ever heard a Vmax 4? If you are on a ZRT, I know you haven't seen one.
the Vmax 4 was slow come paired to the zrt, the Vmax 4 was just to heavy, i never heard what one sounds like but it sounds like a outboard out of water lol, still would rather have a 98 zrt 800
1990 honda elite soon to be dio swap looking for a dio engine anyone have one for sale? selling a 1990 honda elite engine runs great shoot me an offer.
still rather have my dads 2003 polaris 800 RMK with the SLP stage 3 kit ith full exaust. so sexy. and sounds so perfect
86 spree
sb 50 intake and reeds
3.00x10 rear tire
waxed
99Polaris indy 700
harliquim paint
2" bar riser
lefty throttle
ice scratchers
SLP tri keel skis
ported
high compression head
chrome low windshield
mountain bar
Xtra-10
I ALWAYS KEEP ONE ROLLED
The Vmax 4 was ungodly with bottom end. The top end was factory restricted, aftermarket exhaust solved that. If you could get it to hook up, it couldn't be touched. Yes, it was heavy but so is the RX1-ton.
I'd rather have the sdi 1000 in a rev XP chassis but that is not going to happen.

I assumed they were based on that flange design and that they had independent intake and exhaust systems.
If I could I would have a 270hp zrt motor from hooper, same motor that set the.record for radar runs some years ago went 156mph

I have been thinking about this build over the last few days. What would be some holdups on building a twin on the dio? I know that getting a second intake placed would be difficult, but could you share one intake between the two? Could one carb feed two 125 cc setups?
