Greetings:
So ah seen it on th' Internet!
All the cool kids a-cleanin thur rusty parts Ee-leck-tronically. I decided tuh give it a try m'self.
Big Tar-je plastic tub? Check.
Box o' Arm and Hammer laundry sodee? Check.
Sacrificial steel anode? Check.
Battery charger? Uhh, well... Sort of a Smo-art (A-Hyuk!) -ee-Pants charger that needs a countervoltage or else it refuses to send the Amps into battle.
I hooked it up but there was a disappointing absence of Bubblage.
What to do?
I have my spare battery in the Boudoir - it serves for engine-off compression checks - on an Harbor Freight Maintainer.
With that alligator-clamped to the parts immersed in the soup, a hearty froth was spawned. I figgered the bigger charger - a 10-amp unit - would keep it going.
So far, a refreshing lack of Fires have occurred, and the Metal Aero shroud looks like new. My Anode bar on the other hand looks like it lived for 12 winters in Chibougamau.
On to the Iron Cylinder and the flywheel.

your posts always remind me of reading "briar rabbit" ... at first, its hard as * to read, then you get the accent so perfect, you almost do it by instinct.

The "Rust Belt", Mouse?! So they salt the roads 3 or 4 months a year, Big Deal!
Try Yellarosa, where the 15-25 daily wind ensures that salt-spray is a fact of
Daily Life 12/12 months a year. Or Montreal whereI grew up. Two seasons: Winter and July.
Salt in both places causes most plastics to rust!
Yeah, some things at HF are made in China. Maybe tha's whah they's sich durn good qualitee!
The SE/05 cylinder looks like it was Painted black, really nice.
Up for sale as a Top End Kit soon.

Greetings:
Anyone axtin' Wheelman fo' his "Pics" otter have his head examined by a school of Piranhas, then committed to the Institute for the Scooterly Insane.
Sorry I don't have "Before" pics, but there is a "Pic" of the cylinder outcome in WTB/FS section under SE/05 Top End Rebuild Kit. The magnetic Flywheel looks even better after an overnight Spa Soak.
