Hello,
Can anyone tell me the difference between the Honda Dio motor and Taiwan SYM motor?
I understand that the parts are interchangeable and the DIO is preferred but what is it pros/cons about the SYM motors that do not compare to the Honda DIO. Thanks in advance for the knowledge.
Tk

honda dio af18 has a bigger boost port. the gear cover is on the same side as the trans cover. sym the gear cover is on the inner side facing the wheel(must take off wheel and pipe to change gears). port on sym dd50 block are smaller than the af16 boost and intake. sym dd50 also has a vac. line from block since it's fuel tank is below the motor. sym arnada block looks like elite idk about the ports since i never worked on it that much

The sym has a stronger trans but poor casting quality. The blocks are made from cheaper metal

the major issue would be the gear ratio...
some people dream of speed, i own your dreams!
Re: Difference between Honda DIO motor and Taiwan SYM motor
does anyone know if the crankshafts and bearings are interchangeable? i need to install a new crank and was wondering if the honda bearings would fit.
and if the case metal is not as good wouldn't that mean its easier to port than the AF16?
