Tuning them to be equal so there is no push/pull in trike formation.

Re: Twin dio possible?
No trike. I am wanting to build a two cyl dio motor.
Twin dio possible?
I think you would have to go with two carbs and sync them because the fuel and air mixture would be inconsistent between the cylinders but I may be wrong...

Re: Twin dio possible?
I've seen many twin 2 strokes with a single carb, or 4 cylinder with a 2 barrel carb and a 6 cylinder with 3 carbs.Carnie wrote:I think you would have to go with two carbs and sync them because the fuel and air mixture would be inconsistent between the cylinders but I may be wrong...

Re: Twin dio possible?
Do you think that an OKO carb could feed both cyls if oyu fed it from the far left and tried to feed it to the far right cyl through the crank area?

Re: Twin dio possible?
i think you will need 2 carb and both cases sealed from each other if the fires ever 180 deg.. because the cases wood not make a vacuum to pull in fuel mix .. but if both fired at the same time 1 carb wood do it

Re: Twin dio possible?
You have to use separate reeds for each cylinder and the crankcase has to be separate for each cylinder. You also need to keep the intake length identical for both cylinders to use a single carb.Majourlittle wrote:Do you think that an OKO carb could feed both cyls if oyu fed it from the far left and tried to feed it to the far right cyl through the crank area?

Re: Twin dio possible?
Almost every 2 cylinder 2 stroke outboard ever made had a single carb. Separate reeds but a single carb and yest the crankcase have to be sealed from each other.swimmingfree wrote:i think you will need 2 carb and both cases sealed from each other if the fires ever 180 deg.. because the cases wood not make a vacuum to pull in fuel mix .. but if both fired at the same time 1 carb wood do it

Doubling the.compression load means more stress on the shaft threads that were never designed for that.swimmingfree wrote:the nut on the fly wheel and a drill ..

I figured that it could be kickstarted. The intake has taken most of my pondering.

Re: Twin dio possible?
I don't know if it will work but I would always ride with a spare. Look at how many times it has failed on the bbk scoots or even the stock scoots. I would reinforce any part that you can. Are you going to cut the case and cranks to fit them together or are you making your own case?
