Either way, you were safe. You could have parted it out and easily doubled your money. Glad you chose to revive it though. The fender is cheap, around $20 at the local dealer. I would drill some hole's in the trans cover to relieve some heat. My friend had to replace his clutch and bell due to heat warp. Just a heads up!

Yea it rides motormike, quite well in fact despite the belt looks like it was chewed on my a rabid dog and no air filter. I have only taken it to the end of the drive way a few times and run it on the stand for a minute or 2 at idle to help get some of the oil burned out cause it smokes like a train Waiting on a new belt and airfilter as we speak along with a few other parts

Ha! That seat fabric looks good with the green... whole thing looks like a big snake now. Seat looks slippery tho.
Did you stretch the fabric over the old cover, or did you remove it first? And what did you use to retain the new fabric?

I took the old cover off by prying the staples loose with a flathead, stretched the vinyl and tacked it into place with a manual staple gun then stretch and stapled around till it was right then pry out the tacking staples and smoothed it out.

I can call it the Great Devourer (ninjago on CN hahah) I sorta reminds me of a snake too. Luckily swimmingfree I have already done the headlight mod so both my headlights work on low and high beam at the same time

Got my belt in today and made a temporary air filter from some seat foam even though it was thicker than stock. Took her for her first ride and took about 6 miles or so to clear out the smoke. Top speed GPS 38.6 but it felt like it lost power up top, I imagine because of the air filter I made no biggie rather it be rich than lean Will know for sure after I put a few miles on her with the new air filter as soon as it comes in. Also finally got the master cylinder out, boy it was stuck like Chuck. I tried for days to pull and pry it out with no luck. Today i said to heck with it and drilled a hole then knocked it out with a screw driver. Cleaned it and the housing up now it works good. I used epoxy and a screw to plug the hole up. If the epoxy doesnt hold I will tap the hole and actually tighten a screw in there with some epoxy. Cover the little window that shows if the resevoir is empty or full too since it was leaky. Now gotta wait till the epoxy sets and see if it will hold up under fluid pressure. My luck the caliper is frozen too:P

Whew. That is one ugly MC. I think you'd have been better drilling and tapping the other end of the piston and using that to pull it out, than drilling the casting like that. I'll be surprised if that repair holds... it's going to see 600 PSI fluid in use.
The site glasses are a pain... expect that repair will probably be fine. I'd just sand it flat and paint it.

It was a last ditch effort on my part only time will tell if it will hold up. I tore the rubber near the spring putting it back in so most likely am going to have to order the repair kit. Started bleeding the line and found where the hose had worn a hole so I had to take that off, luckily the hose off my junk 86 honda rebel fit almost perfectly. In need of new brake pads. I think the caliper may be stuck too, what do you recommend for that noiseguy?

Recommend you pull the MC off your junk bike and use that too
That MC piston's too gross to reuse. You'll need to get a kit... though frankly I'd just run down a used MC instead, given that the casting's compromised. Even a Chinese one off a GY6 clone would probably be fine.... You can pick up a Chinese clone new for $25 shipped. Probably cost about the same or less than the OEM rebuild on the one you're holding. Ebay search "scooter master cylinder" example. OEM used would be better of course:

For the caliper, you need to fill and bleed the entire system, then apply brakes with the caliper removed and brake pads out. If the piston's going to come out of the caliper, that's the only way it will come. Any master cylinder and line will work for this job. You'll want to rebuild the OEM caliper or get an OEM replacement... which may require a new piston in addition to the seals. LMK how that works and if it still won't move post back and we can discuss options.
