i have seen malossi mhr knock offs .cheap china kits with malossi markings .ive done 420 on my corsa .i did hit 525 on my ts185 the other week i pulled it apart and the bore looks fine and it still ride fine but i did upjet it .
Both are quality kits, and I've had both bust 400 on a few occasions. That said, I don't think you can generalize by brand. Surely a lot depends on the Compression ratio at setup, the RPMs you run, the fuel used and many other variables that can make for detonation and grenading at a cooler or hotter temp. Regardless of brand, once the temp goes critical and detonation begins, the Life Expectancy is reduced to fractions of a second. The gauge is too slow to record the carnage. My last Malossi had not a scratch when I removed it. The Corsa was similarly pristine, at least until I fed it a carb needle E-clip. Both saw 400-ish on occasion.

Most of my money is spent on scooterparts. The rest is just wasted.

450 is melting point for aluminum. If it's a hypereutectic piston, heat can go higher due to more silica in the aluminum to take the heat and not expand as much. I would shoot for 380-390f peak cht at wot. If your in the 400+ you risk seizing. Especially if your pilot is not set correct for throttle off after wot.
Nothing like getting stroked!

My tai 50mm sees 430+ some days, no seize action. I have MHRs and Corsas on the shelf but have not used one yet. I was not expecting so much life out of the cheap tai BBK.
