Aero 50 polini kit w/custom pipe and stage 6 carb

Post by benji »

So, noob here, got an 86 aero50 with a gummed up factory carb that I want to hot rod.
I've got an Airsal bbk kit that I think is 65cc, but I'm having trouble finding a pipe for it,
so if anybody know of a used one lemme know.
Also, traded for a weird 19mm carb, and I was thinking bout going to a machine shop to have an adapter made that will turn it 90 degrees to the side so I can mount it outside the plastics.
Anybody got any ideas for me?
Bikes already got a Malossi multivar and Fly clutch, oil pump delete, Uni filter, and stock muffler with a hole drilled in it.
I've been premixing at about 25:1 with the bystarter unplugged.
Runs good, but smokey and noisey with that hole...................................................................................... haha

So, I ordered a carb off ebay, pure garbage leaked everywhere. Got a second one from Amazon looks more like the stock one, but runs great now haha. I still got the stock one, I'm thinking of trying to have it rebuilt the slow jet or something is clogged so it only runs decently w no bystarter. Anybody have this problem? I wanna buy a polini carb and new mani along w a pipe from graphite but gotta save up first. Btw, is graphite a good idea in the vario? I've been putting a Lil in here n there. Also, any body have advice on pre-mixing ratios? I've been 25-35 to 1 w decent results but I'm seeing oil leak from the exhaust port. Malossi multivar kit w yellow spring on malossi fly clutch, uni filter, hole in the muffler, 38 on flat but gets there fairly quick.

Go with 40:1 ratio. S4patrick has a few pipes for that engine for sale.

Greetings:

Graphite9 absolutely hurt anything, but graphite anywhere near the belt or pulley faces might. This is one place where greasy fingers have no place. I've been known to stop to go wash my hands thoroughly, and de-grease the pulley faces with acetone. Even the belt gets a light cleaning on its edges before I assemble. Then again, maybe I'm CDO. That's like OCD but in the correct, alphabetical order.

Thanx guys, I'll start doin 40:1 and see how she runs. Anybody running 100ll for gas? I was thinking bout doin that and maybe a ruck rear wheel. I found a 10x 3.5 m/t drag slick on line and I kinda want it, run around w a slick smelling like race gas haha. Also, how do I post pics? I'm about to post a couple YouTube vids cuz I can't get pics from my phone on here.

Ya you gotta take a couple sips right when you get the coffee haha. We gotta Lotta coffee stands up here n the bikini baristas love the scoot and usually put a sticker on the top of it to keep it from leaking. But there's always a little spillage. And the cops HATE to see beer cans in there.

By the way, anybody notice the alarm? If anybody wants tips on putting one on their bike, let me know. I'm a professional car stereo and alarm installer by trade. About to put a very small stereo on this one.

Ok, so got to 41 on gps today, w a bald tire w low air haha, on flat ground. Still using the lucas semi-synthetic smokeless 2t oil, run 2 tanks thru, but noticed it seemed to overheat on me. Sputters n pops, slows down, then it's ok again. Could be some water in the tank or something, it's been raining a lot up here. But I think it might be time for the airsal swap soon. I gotta get a pipe and a carb setup before I do it, I'm gonna try to collect up everything while burning up the stock bore for awhile. I'm about to start running 100ll, anybody think it's a bad idea?

Greetings:

I had to run 100LL in a couple of high-compression engines - like 165 PSI. ONLY way those engines don't grenade is using detonation-resistant fuel like AvGas. If the compression is more reasonable, the cost of the fuel adds Nothing to performance.

Huh, I figured it might be cheap insurance from detonation? And I've been overheating on long runs from time to time...
