Yeah, Polini PWK 24. Main is sitting at 122 with needle(unknown taper, came with carb) on middle notch.
Main really hasnt been tapped into yet since Im just heat cycling at the moment. Doing the occasional blip to check the throttle response and see where Im at with the pilot. With everything being fresh on the build, Im just taking a stab at the initial jetting. I think Im in the ballpark but certainly not a home run...yet.
I dont want to waste my time trying to get it dialed in until the rings have seated and the break-in process is complete. Im just trying not to have an uber lean/rich condition for now to avoid a melted piston crown or filling the exhaust with spooge. Id be pleased with a slightly rich condition to get me by.

Re: Double Trouble....Elwood!
The bigger pwks take some pretty big mains I've noticed. I'm running vm26 mikini off a kx65 and it came with a very lean needle. I'm running a 150 mj on it. Try up jetting huge or going full rich on the clip and see if it's better. I was at 125 mj and getting a similar condition as your describing, got a little better at 135, ended up at 150 mj on my bugeye Zuma with a top trophy black cylinder and s6 pro-rep pipe.
Re: Double Trouble....Elwood!
I know a guy who built alot of 2t race motors. Scooters, ATVs, snowmobiles, dirt bikes, etc. Loves pwks, says they are easy to tune. His rule is to make it not start unless it's choked, idle clean and crisp, bark at mid throttle and be a little rich at WOT.
But he's also not afraid of changing pistons frequently haha.

How do you reduce squish without increasing compression?

Re: Double Trouble....Elwood!
Dishing the piston? Or maybe doing some machining on the head?
Re: Double Trouble....Elwood!
Nice build - will be following.
Are you using the Malossi belt that comes with ZX trans from SSS? I know you haven't marker tested yet, but is that belt size appropriate to hit full range bottom and top with the Polini for Ruckus vari?

Re: Double Trouble....Elwood!
Ive never gotten a ZX Trans from SSS so I dont know which belt they provide with their kits. Im using Malossi belt #617211.
Once I get to trans tuning I will check ride height of the belt on the vari. Too much snow on the ground here to do anything. It may be a few months.....stay tuned!

Quick question...
You using the Yamabond with a gasket or just by itself for the case halves?

Re: Double Trouble....Elwood!
The case halves have no gasket...it is bonding goop only.
