Been a while since I've updated my Elite project, here is latest:

(Engine cooling mod done sometime late September 08:
http://www.hondaspree.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7670)

I was pretty bummed about having her knocked over at a scooter rally in October, then a second time when a mechanic at the shop improperly propped the main stand. :?

Ended up gluing the broken headset, then prepping and repainting with Krylon Fusion Red. Wasn't quite the right color, but it came out pretty decent and at least in one piece again. Then for the side panel, instead of offsetting it with the brighter Krylon paint, I cleaned up the black marks with degreaser then added some cool stickers. :D Was a fan of stock bodied sleeper, but really digging how the stickers turned out heh

Finally added real deal JDM sidestand bought for $90 from Hawaii member, wish I had invested in one sooner is all I gotta say..

As always, pics!

So even tho' you went mini stroker, it didn't make one bit of a difference?

But man... Nice Pics! I cant wait to see this bike done!
lol, yes it should make a difference. notice the ministroke takes up more crank volume and has teflon spacers, it should also hold up better than the stock crank.

but displacement wise going from 72cc like with a stock crank, no I didn't go bigger. I could have if I messed with head gaskets and head instead, note the comments.
WAIT, i'm lost as well........if you end up getting the same 72cc, other than a better crank with teflon spacers for more longevity, how will the ministroke crank actually get you more power if its still just 72cc in the end?

but if the stock crank gave you 72cc and with the stroker kit, and base gaskets, netting an almost same 72cc, then what's the difference?

The cups are virtually the same size.???

Base Gaskets?

Post by Wheelman-111 »

Greetings:

Gaskets are saucers under the cup. Make NO difference to size of cup. Needless confusion. Not Confucian.

Stroker crank means more displacement. Gaskets don't change that. Necessary to avoid head/piston contact, perhaps. Also to adjust port timing. But you're moving more mixture, so the power, if ports are correctly configured, will be greater.

I thought toast said that he didn't gain any displacement. And ended up with 72cc again?

Latest tune update, Wed March 04, 2009

Using 28mm OKO carb:

Pilot = 55
Main = 142
Needle = 1clip rich from middle
A/F = ~1.5turns out

Trans
(same settings as before):

Lathe lightened Keli with 5.3g Malossi x6 for 32g total
2k Clutch Center spring
2k Jog style grab springs in stock clutch
Malossi 7:1 primaries

After months of various trial and error and trying literally DOZENS of jetting configurations I am set and very satisfied with this one :D

For anyone running a similar build I would HIGHLY recommend starting at this jetting as a baseline.

I have a 32 mile commute to school and have used it many times for testing each seperate jet combo, so there is LOTS of time and distance behind these results.

What I've seen is running the needle with mid clip position, you can run much higher pilot and main (58, 152 to be exact and overly rich!) and see great temps at WOT then see temps creap up at part throttle, BUT a richer needle helps tremendously when letting off or just cruising at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle and with leaner pilot and main allows to jump back into powerband at nearly any throttle! Smoke is greatly reduced as well.

Latest top speed, attained with richer 145 main:

74.5 MPH by Garmin GPS (with stock mirrors btw! removing should see +1-2mph)

Smoke em 2 Stroke! 8)

Per request, here is how I keep my billet aluminum oil pump plug in place. There are many ways to secure but I found various washers to be the simplest method.

This is needed to keep the pump plug from leaking or even popping out under crank case pressures

electric start 90% of the time, no idea why people complain about it being too weak when they go stroke.

stock starter has plenty of juice and lights up quick

to get 78cc you must reshape the head, take a look at pics on 1st page to see how much piston goes past cyl

you would have to remove material until you had proper squick, while using only the single metal base gasket corsa comes with, it can be done but not the route I went
