Mama Mia
Mama Mia
I picked up an 86 Spree so mama can scoot too. It is bone stock as far as I can tell. It rides like it .It suits her needs perfectly as Honda san intended. We live in an urban setting. The Spree is used for errands/adventures. I put mods on it to suit her. I present for your pleasure Mama Mia. I took a semi hard side cooler and drilled a lot of holes in it to mount it to the wire rack. I put some more reflectors on so you cant miss this cool mama. I found a liner to fit when i bought the cooler. A few pieces of angle aluminum, a hand full of stainless fasteners and we can now haul casseroles or an 18 pack on ice. It is not aerodynamic by any stretch but it is convenient and insulated! I made a petcock cover since my daughters Spree had one to provide a model. Thanks to this site I was able to put it into a reliable running state. I cleaned cleaned and cleaned the carb. same with fuel tank & fuel filter. I replaced the fuel/vacuum lines, new plug , new belt, seat cover replaced. I did some repairs to the plastic panels. I would not have wanted to do even these minor maintenance items without the guidance provided by this forum, Thanks to numerous posters

Re: Mama Mia
That thing is in fine shape the cooler looks great, looks better than one of those rack cases you buy for way too much money. I love the new petcock cover, nice work.

Re: Mama Mia
Thanks for the positive responses. I spent way to much time on the petcock cover, had I only known i could get one here... it is fiberglass and built up with automotive fillers. I glassed in longer metal tangs on the bottom. Once I got it smooth and painted I put a couple of layers of mirror coat epoxy on it. Mirror coat is the material used for bartops. It is incredibly durable. The insulated carryall was way less expensive than the rack cases. It was unique. Mama dont want no milk crate tye wrapped on either. She needed style. I probably have $35.00 in it including reflectors and stainless hardware. When packed full of beverages it is heavy, but retains its shape, partly because of the extra liner. It's easy to clip oversize things on with the carabiners. I may have to put snaps or velcro on the fishnet pouches to keep things from bouncing out. Ideas? It works as a backrest too! As life goes on, and she gets used to it, and wants more, I will beef it up mechanically. I have already seen things in this forum that give me ideas to keep mama happy.
