Re: INSIDE Carburetors

Good one and Hiya Wheelman :hi:

Awesome camera, The video title says its taken at 28k frames/sec - 35 millionths of a sec/frame . That would be 1.26 degrees of crank angle per frame at the 6000 rpm for the 2T example you posted.

Edit: Correction to 'millionths' of a sec.

Re: JW Parts Plus - RIP OFF ARTISTS- BEWARE!!!!!!

Just to let anyone know that is thinking of using them. They took my money for their so called rebuilding service and NEVER contacted me as to where to send my clutch. Furthermore, they NEVER had the courtesy to respond to any of my 3 emails! I did buy the service on Ebay so I filled a claim to get...

Trying to locate a stator for my Elite E. Discontinued everywhere. Can anyone point me in a direction to find one or one from something else that would work one it? Re: 1986 Spree head torque

What is the correct torque for the head bolts? I can’t find a service manual. Its listed at 7-9 ft/lbs in Section 6-1 of the Spree Service Manual The Spree and other manuals are available here at Hondaspree.net http://www.hondaspree.net/other/Spree_NQ50_84-87_1.pdf Edit: Correct link from Honda Spr...

Re: Will an AF05 mag work on AF16?

F L Y W H E E L IRC AF05's flywheels I have looked at (Aero50 85-87, Elite 50SE) would be a non-starter when mounted on an AF16. Look at the timing difference between the key slot in the flywheel vs the raised outer surface of the flywheel that the spark pulse trigger senses. The key slot to flywge...

Re: Question about private messages

When you send a p/m, the user is notified, but the msg stays in your outbox until the user actually reads it.
Once read, the message is moved to 'sent'

Thus if the user has not logged in and read your message, or logs in and ignores messages, the message will stay in your outbox.

Re: Oil Line Location

It still looks like I might have to fab up the hose. I’ll try Honda to see if I can get the joint. Where does it attach to the carb? Just to be clear on the oil pump, lines and connections, here is a diagram from the 85-87 Aero50. The diagram is very close to the Spree layout - with small differenc...

...Where does it go after the WIDE tank out flow? [/quote} To a rubber right angle reducer, then to a male/male hose connector barb, then to the oil line. I know there's a filter in there too. I have downloaded the service manual from here, but the pictures are poor & I can't seem to find a goo...

Re: Replacement Carburetor Question

I agree with BenL, that tube is used as an oil lint input. It is not required for the Spree and should be capped off. If not capped off it will cause an air leak. The Honde Elite E (SB50) of 1988-89 used a carb like your 'clone' The Elite E had only one tap on the intake manifold for vaccum, and the...

Re: 1986 Spree NQ50 Starter Wont Stop

Any ideas what is causing this? A starter relay with contacts stuck is a good place to check. Over time there is metal transfer to one contact and pitting of the other. The contacts can become mechanically stuck by the build up. They can also be 'welded' in a small area by a high current arc. Unplu...

Re: Starts, won't stay running

With the hold down clamp removed (as you have already done), the bystarter is only held by friction of the o-ring seal. Just gently pull the bystarter. If it moves a bit and then feels hung up - then there may be an obstruction holding back the brass collar (air control valve slide) or needle of the...

I see there is a clip that holds the top part of the cover and 2 tabs that slide behind the body panel on the bottom. Has ANYONE come up with a better idea on mounting the petcock cover?????? Re: 1984 Spree Sending Unit only goes to 1/2 tank

...Yes it appears it has been replaced with a newer 3 wire unit. So the only way to get this to work correctly is to find a 2 wire sending unit? It it were me, getting a 2 wire sender is where I'd put effort. I've been only occasionally on this board, Perhaps someone's come up with a simple circuit...

Re: 1984 Spree Sending Unit only goes to 1/2 tank

Is there a way to fix the sending unit without replacing it? You can take the cover off the sending unit and inspect/clean. On an 84-85 Spree, the sender is just a coil of resistance wire, with a wiper attached to the float wire. Make sure all electrical paths are clean - the wiper/resistance wire....
