My question is: WHYwould you do such a thing when you say you are taking it in a TRUCK ?
Be like normal people and strap it upright to avoid the eminent damage to the side-covers, and in general, looking like a dolt.

Just maybe he has a topper or toneau cover that prohibits standard procedure...graphite9 wrote:I didn't even see the part about it being in a truck. Yea, stand that puppy up
but the ONLY scooter I transport on it's side is a real p.o.s.

Beat me too it, we used to travel with a bed cover and we had to lay our 125s on their side. Just drain the gas and oil. Refill with new when you get there.motormike wrote:Just maybe he has a topper or toneau cover that prohibits standard procedure...graphite9 wrote:I didn't even see the part about it being in a truck. I have racks for my tralier hitch to transport my scoots. But if you can't get ahold of something like that, grab some old blankets and cardboard for the bed of the truck and maybe even pull the plastics to keep them from getting damaged and reinstall on arrival

Buy a bike rack for your truck and put them on the roof rack bike style.

just take your platics off, drain the gas and oil and put a screw in the oil release on the gear box. if your woried about getting oil everywhere just throw a tarp under it and kinda encase it in the tarp.

Those bed covers can be removed and that seems like a simpler approach.

A locking bed cover is a nice little semi secure garage for a scooter when traveling intoparts unknown.

I would remove the plastics and liquids and the battery too, might make a mess if it's not the sealed type. I stand mine up and strap it in like a dirtbike in the bed of my truck.
